Amine L. The person should have the cop on to put a towel on the floor to catch the water and only open the door slightly so if excess water comes on they can quickly close the pump filter door immediately. I've shown middle aged women how to do this and they are easily able to do it and be mindful of what is happening.
Paul M: i would advise you to be careful on you suggestions, opening drain pump filter with sump full of water could flood utility room or kitchen and damage floor, skirting boards...ect.
Ok. You can try and open the small hatch round door at the bottom front of the machine, this is an inspection door and there's a filter inside which stops larger objects going out into the sewers. There could be coins, hair clips stuck there. Try this first and see if anything comes out.

What brand is it ?
@Paul M. I cleaned the filter, but judging by the sound, I think it's a problem with the pump.
Or it could be a problem with the pump.
