Bottom of down pipe and window handles replacement

Our downpipes, the bottom part has been broke off and needs replacement. 3 of our windows need the handles replaced. We ordered the handles, however the bar is too long, was wondering if you could angle grind them to the right length? We have the originals to work off of.
