We are looking for a handyman or window/glazing specialist to help install a cat flap in our home in Malahide, Dublin. We are considering installing the cat flap through our kitchen window, but we would appreciate professional advice on the best and most practical solution before proceeding. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can visit, assess the options, and carry out the installation. Thank you for the information, and sorry for the late reply. We were away on holidays for a bit. We would also be open to installing the cat flap directly into the door. Perhaps there are also options with microchip detection so that no other animals can get in. Would you be able to carry out this type of installation? If so, please let us know. Thanks!

Better to cut the door. Except car flap can allow rats or foxes to get in, although there's flaps with an electric lick and your cat has to wear a collar with a sensor on it and flap only opens when it detects the cat but other animals can sometimes break it and get in

Not practical to cut glass for a cat flap. The cat going into the flap will put weight on the glass and it will break. Only time a hole is cut in glass is for a vent or extractor fan
