I have a monobloc bath tap and wish to add a handheld shower next to the tap, which can use the tap spout. This will need either an adapter or a replacement bath tap. The estimated price for the work to be completed excludes material costs.

So it should come of with an adjustable wrench
Whoever did your bath put a basin tap instead of a bath tap
@Graham H. It's best to cut the tiles side of the bath to get access to the underside of the tap. If you aren't fussy about it, there's a standard rigid plastic sheet for the side of the bath to replace the tiles. Also you can get sheet of timber/MDF for this too, special bath panel.
@Richard B. Updated with a picture of the underside of the spout, which I am assuming is the aerator. Also included a picture of the small hole on the underside of the main outlet pipe and a picture of the bath enclosed with the tiles.
Could you take a photo of the aerator where the water comes out you should see a flat edge on either side. Most tap make allow you to take it off. If it doesn't then you are quite stuck for options. I don't know why anyway would tile a bath in without an access panel. It blows my mind
@Richard B. Thank you, Richard, for your quick reply. So far the adapters I have seen required the spout to be removable, and I believe mine is fixed. Unfortunately, there is no access under the bath, as it is a tiled-off unit.
You can get bath taps with a shower head connection on them to allow for you to still be able to use the spout. What is the access like to get under the bath
