We have 2 radiator covers in the livingroom, and we are using the tops as bookshelves (see photo 1). We would like to have one long shelf (approx 335cm) instead, which goes across the two radiator covers and the empty space between them. The shelf would have to be made to fit between the top of the radiator covers and the moulding (see photo 2). Ideally it would be in a similar style to what is there at the moment.
Comments & Offers
Yeah that's sound, if you want to accept offer so we can chat more about it on ****** that'd be great.
@David Q. Hi David, that sounds good, I am in Milltown, does that work for you?
Would need to have a look at exactly what's needed, is the cover tops staying on , can we cover the dado rail , do we need to use a 18mm hardwood to take the strength, the shelf I was talking about was 3inch thick with a routed out front to suit the radiator cover and would be strong enough to take all books without sigging but would cover dado rail .
@David Q. Hi David, we would be asking you to provide materials, how would that affect your offer? Just to confirm, the dimensions of the shelf would be: Depth = 20cm (approx) Height = 1.6cm (or less) Length = 335cm (approx) The height can't be more than 1.6cm so that the new shelf can slot in on top of the existing radiator covers. Thanks a million!
@Robin F. Hi Robin, thank you for your detailed reply. So the dimensions of the shelf would be: Depth = 20cm (approx) Height = 1.6cm (or less) Length = 335cm (approx) The height can't be more than 1.6cm so that the new shelf can slot in on top of the existing radiator covers. Just checking we are on the same page - as a 7cm thick shelf wouldn't work unfortunately. Thanks a million!
