Need Handyman to Clean & Seal Wall Air Vents

€200
Task Assigned

Description

Looking for a handyman / ventilation or damp specialist to deep clean passive wall vents (natural external air vents) in my home. Job includes removing and cleaning vent grilles, vacuuming and deep cleaning the wall sleeves (straight-through vents, no ducting), and treating minor condensation-related surface mold around one vent using mold-safe methods only (NO bleach). I also need the perimeter gap between the vent frame and wall sealed using a thin bead of mold-resistant, paintable acrylic or silicone, around the frame only and airflow must remain unobstructed with grilles still removable. There is 3 vents total.

OK, it depends so, I've seen everything from them sitting in loose to being cemented in. Easy to wipe clean if they can't be replaced without a fuss.

@Thomas K. You’ll be able to remove the current pipe and replace it + fit it properly with foam?

robert s. one month ago

@James L. I think it’s solid!

@Daniel R. Will you replace cover & plastic pipe (sleeve) that sits inside the cavity wall?

Yes, adjustable covers no issue, the sleeving depending how it's fixed in could be a bit of work. Is it flexi ducting or a solid 100mm pipe?

@Thomas K. So you can just replace the cover & plastic pipe (sleeve) that sits inside the cavity wall?
