prep. wiring for kitchen extractor fan

I'm getting a cooking extractor fan installed on Friday but need the preliminary wiring done beforehand. There's a socket in the room/wall directly above it so could maybe work it from there? There's also a socket at the same level as the hob but to work a wire down from the fan itself might be tricky as it's a tiled area?

@Dylan S. Sorry for the delay in getting back. I was waiting to see if my partner was going to be home from work as I thought I was going to be late but should make it for 6 if that still suits you?

@Dylan S. A second sitting room but the socket isn't on that interfacing wall but rather on the far wall, more's the pity!
Is the anything behind that wall?
@Dylan S. Hi Dylan. Thanks for getting onto me. I'm away at the moment but back Thurs evening if that would suit? To answer your question for now though the nearest power point is over to the left of the cooker (beside microwave in pic) & at counter level almost. The next nearest is in the bedroom directly above the kitchen, at knee height and basically in line with where the cooker is. Thanks, Aileen

@George C. Just the extractor fan for now. No need for a duct/vent apparently, which I could have put in on top of shelving alright if was putting them/it in etc.
Yeah...it's a tricky one...are you going to get cupboards on that wall or just the extractor fan?
@George C. Ah maybe I didn't make it clear but the socket is in the room directly above it, rather than in the kitchen itself, so there's no plugging it in there. I just mentioned it in the sense that there is wiring directly in a line above where the fan needs to go so maybe the extactor fan wiring could be worked up to it etc. From what I know you can't just plug a cooking extractor fan into a socket anyhow?
Aileen...that socket is there for that reason. To plug in the extractor fan.
