Looking for a qualified handyman or carpenter to repair the bottom step of my staircase, which has caved in slightly. The step is still attached but feels soft and unstable – it most likely needs reinforcement rather than full replacement. Smart storage drawers are installed under the stairs, but they can be removed to allow access to the underside of the staircase if needed. I’d like the step made safe, secure, and matched as closely as possible to the existing finish.

@André D. Sounds good Andre, I’ve smart storage underneath the stairs so I would prefer to take out the drawers together and assess if that’s okay (haven’t removed the drawers before)
@Conor H. No fixings and timber I don’t think
That's good dobyou have and timber and fixings i could make something to prop the tread of the stairs which would mean carpet would not have to be removed

Is there access to the back of the staircase from underneath
