I have a recirculating cooker hood extractor but want to replace with a vent to outside. Fan is working strong but kitchen is filled with condensation constantly when using cooker and ceiling is stained from condensationsation and grease being blown along it
The cable runs down from the void in the ceiling in a straight line to where it comes out, so I'll either have to move that or the hole, whichever is easiest. Yeah I'll be down later on in the week and I cab get it done for you. I'll supply the materials for it.
@James L. Yeah, theres actually plenty of room directly above that wiring entry, it's just not in pics. It might be noticeable at top of hood cupboard when connector fitted but im not too bothered about the cosmetics of it. I can accept your offer for the purpose of you just to coming to take a look at it if you are in the area anyway?
@Sharon. No hurry, whatever suits you, just letting you know. Thanks again.
@Sharon. That's grand. Well what do you mean by connector? I have a plastic pipe duct and joiner bends which is specially for going through the wall for the vent hole and joining to the hood. Do you want a metal grille outside or plastic one? I have a few things already but whatever you want to get your self that's fine too. Thanks
@Paul M. Thanks. There's no urgent rush. I have to buy the external vent and connector yet. I will get back to you this week.
@Sharon. That's grand thanks
@Paul M. Its my own, I've just bought it recently.
@Sharon. But sorry to sound ignorant but is it your own house or are you renting it? Just want to get everything sorted first, thanks
@Sharon. Ok that's fine.
@Paul M. End of terrace house
@Sharon. That's great with the extra photos. But can you explain are you in an apartment block or a house?
@Paul M. The cooker is against the side wall of house, have side entrance. Solid wall. I have added a pic of the spot in wall and more pics of the hood.
@Sharon. If you can explain more about the questions I asked about it'd be helpful. Thanks
Hello Sharon that photo is helpful. But would you take another photo of the space above the hood and also can you explain where the outside wall is where you want the hole drilled. Is the wall that you want the hole drilled directly above the hood or is it further away and need ducting to be placed along the wall. Thanks
