We have an old single iron/brass bed. The frame is missing a small piece which means that the struts will not fit in. We would like this fixed please and we would also like the bed frame polished as it is quite rusty. I attach 3 photos. The first is of the opposite side and shows what the game should look like. The second and third photos are of the broken side of the frame that we need fixed. You can also see that it is rusty.

No problem! Hope to do business soon
@Darren L. Thanks Darren I really appreciate that. You’re very good
Hello Emily, apologies for the late response. That is ok, we’ll look my offer stays open to you. You can always leave this job ticket open too, when you get sorted just message me on here on this ticket and we shall get something sorted
@Darren L. Dear Darren I have spent a bit of time trying to figure out how to actually support a mattress on this bed and it doesn’t look straightforward at all because it is an antique bed and not a standard single size. I think I will have to research further before getting the work done in case it’s all for nothing in the end. I’m really sorry to have taken up your time today. I will come back to you if I get a solution. Thanks so much Darren
@Darren L. Thanks Darren I’m not quite sure what you mean on the rust but I’m sure that we can agree something when you see the bed. I’d like it to look presentable; but I’m happy to do a bit of work on it myself too if you could give me a bit of direction! I’m happy with your quote. I just want to double check that I can get a bed divan or a base to fit it once it is repaired . So, is it ok if I come back to you later today or early tomorrow? Once I have that sorted, might it suit you to come later this week, maybe? Thanks so much
Hi Emily, yes that is rust removal as well. This doesn’t include a complete restoration though, sand blasting would be additional costs. I will definitely be cleaning up the welding area as need bear clean metal so weld fuses together effectively, so yes I can sweep over the rust with wire wheel
@Darren L. Thanks Darren Can I check; Is that your best price? And does it include the rust removal too? Thanks so much
@Darren L. No unfortunately not, Darren. But it’s not necessary to mould it in the same way as the opposite side. We just want to be able to put a slatted bed frame on the struts. It doesn’t have to match what’s there as it will be under the mattress. So whatever makes it functional (not beautiful) works for us! Know what I mean?
Do you still have the sheared piece of that bracket?
@Darren L. Thanks Darren
Hi Emily, ok I see now, ok I will send in offer, this includes labour and materials, I will have to fabricate the other half of that bracket.
Ok fantastic!
Ok I will send you an offer, we can discuss in more depth.
@Darren L. Actually I emailed task match and they are going to upload the photos I think if you’d like to hang on a few mins.
Thanks Darren That’s a good idea. There is a fair bit of rust on the bed but I’m happy to have a go at that myself if it’s a time consuming/ expensive task.
Basically you have to accept an offer before personal details are shared
Ok I will make an offer, they are very strict on here and heavily monitored. Can you give me as much details as possible about the rust The welding I can quote you no problem as I have that an idea of that. Did you want the whole bed restored or is it a small area of rust to be removed and restored?
@Darren L. I don’t know what’s going wrong. They don’t seem to be uploading. Have you a what’s app number I can send them to?
Hi Emily, no pictures loaded as of yet
Hi Darren Can you see the photos now?
@Darren L. Hi sorry about that I will try and upload them again
Hi Emily, I can do this for you no problem, I will need to see the photos properly before I can give you a quote, the rust removal and cleaning process is not a quick process
Hi Emily, photos aren't uploaded correctly . Thanks
