Description
Looking for a handyman to help with a few jobs at a house in Cobh: • Dismantle a double bed, move it upstairs and reassemble it. • Check and fit a replacement indoor light fitting. • Inspect an outside sensor light that may need repair or replacement. • Check a tumble dryer that is not working correctly. The fuse has already been replaced, but the issue remains. Ideally looking for someone with general handyman experience who is comfortable with basic electrical work and furniture assembly. Hi Nik, Thank you for your offer. Just to let you know, I have moved and assembled the bed, so that part of the job is no longer required. The remaining items are: - Replace an indoor light fitting. - Check/replace the outside sensor light. - Diagnose the tumble dryer issue. Could you let me know if the €50 quoted is for these remaining jobs, or if you would prefer to inspect first and then provide a final quote? Many thanks Joy
@Paul M. Hi Paul, Thank you for your reply. After the photo was taken, someone helped me test the dryer using a small piece of foil, and the dryer turned on. I have since removed the foil for safety reasons. I replaced the fuse, but it is still not working, so I'm thinking the issue may be with the switch or another component. I'll wait for someone to come and inspect it properly and carry out a thorough check. Thank you again for your advice. Kind regards, Joy
Hello W the outside sensor light is not really fixable, only solution is to buy a new one. The fuse in photo is black caused by a burn, it's possible the wall socket is damaged aswell, or it could be something else in the tumble dryer that's burnt out. I'm only offering advice but I'm unable to do the job. There's other men in Cork who can reply to you, give it few hours and they'll respond to you. Thanks
