I want to put a toilet under stairs. There is a wall under stairs which is the back of an old fire place that fronted into old kitchen. This will need to be removed to improve access to under stairs.
@Simon H. Simon To make access to under stairs the wall beside existing door and wall under stairs at present will need to be removed. I have had advice that these 2 walls which are under the stairs landing do not support the chimney(see photo)outside. The boottom of chimney was removed by previous owner (when building in old garage)to all room for new side passage way.

@Zak N. Hi Zak. I will do when Im home later. Have you done similar before. FYI. The 2 walls inside and outside of under stairs are part of old fireplace. The chimney is on the outside wall of my house. The old fire flue apparently goes up at an angle from fireplace into chimney? I have been told that chimney is not supported by the fireplace walls under the stairs but wud have been built into external wall? Dont know if you have come across this before? Tnx Sean
Hi Sean, can you post some photo's of the area? Thanks Zak
