Rebuild an interior door frame

Description
Old door frame knocked out so new settee could get in. I need to have it rebuilt so I can replace my door. There was glass above that door and that went too. So the whole thing needs to be redone but a piece of wood instead of glass.

Ok. Is there a length of timber on the door frame underneath the tape? Or is the doorframe flat?
@Paul M. When the frame was knocked out we were afraid there would be sharp bits sticking out and the settee is leather . It was for safety. If you'd like me to take the tape off to show you let me know
Susan what is the brown tape on the door frame for? Is there something missing there?
