Thanks for the comments lads. As I’ve said in the ad, I’d really like to keep the exact same handle in the door as it matches the handles we have and looks well. Unless the new handles are an exact match, I don’t want to go for that option (new handles -square/rectangle/bolt through etc)

@ Paul, New lock and handle plus paying someone to change won't fix the problem. He needs the door planed so it's doesn't stick. That will fix the problem.

Zak. The compatible lock costs about 10 euro. Not a big deal

What he really needs to do is get the door planed so it doesn't stick when opening or closing. Then he wouldn't pull the handle off.

Zak. The locks are easily available in lock suppliers for wholesale prices, not in Woodies etc!

@Paul M, That new version of handle your on about has been out about 20+ years. And you need a compatible lock.

There's new version of these round door handles which have longer thin bolts that go through the door and screw into the other handle on the door, and once screwed together the handles are fully secure. New pair of as similar door handles as yours are available for about 10 euro.

buy a rectangular door handle. screw holes will be in a different place and you can do your self
